The short version
JaxInsider is Jacksonville's local directory and community site. We list real Jacksonville businesses, run the neighborhood groups, the events calendar and the jobs board, and we are growing the directory fast.
We are looking for people who already talk to local businesses, or who want to. You set a business up on JaxInsider, you help them pick a plan, and you earn a cut of every paid plan you bring in. You do not need to sell anything to a business that only wants the free listing; you still get credit for it.
This suits someone who runs social media for local shops, does marketing or promo work, waits tables or cuts hair and knows every owner on the block, or is a student who is good at talking to people.
What you actually do
- Find Jacksonville businesses that are not on JaxInsider yet, or are on it with a bare listing.
- Set their listing up for them from your rep page: name, category, neighborhood, and the owner's name and email so they get control of it.
- Walk them through the plans. Free is free. Paid plans get them featured placement, deals, and more.
- Share your personal code so members who join through you are counted too.
That is the job. No cold calling script, no quota to keep your account.
How you get paid
- Commission on every paid plan a business takes through you. The rate is set on your account when you start, and it applies to every paid tier, not just the cheapest one.
- Paid monthly, once the business has paid us. We send a 1099 at year end, so we will ask for a W-9 before your first payout.
- Free listings and free member sign-ups earn nothing, because nobody paid, but they are tracked on your page and they matter: a rep with a hundred free listings behind them gets the paid ones.

What you need
- You live in or around Jacksonville and you know some part of it well.
- You can hold a conversation with a business owner and follow through.
- A phone and a laptop. Nothing else.
- 18 or over, eligible to work in the US as an independent contractor.
Experience in sales, marketing, social media or hospitality helps. It is not required. We would rather have somebody who knows Riverside than somebody who knows Salesforce.
