Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how JaxInsider.com ("JaxInsider," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the JaxInsider.com website and services (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide. This includes information you give us when you create an account, submit a business listing, complete a form, contact us, request to be connected with a professional, or make a payment. It may include your name, email address, phone number, business details, the content of your messages and submissions, and the details you enter into lead or inquiry forms.
Payment information. When you make a payment, your card or bank details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers. We may receive limited information from the processor, such as a confirmation of payment, the payment status, and a reference identifier.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, clicks and interactions, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the dates and times of your visits. Some of this is collected through cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, and similar technologies, including those operated by third parties such as Meta (Facebook) and Google.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its features.
- Create and manage accounts and process submissions and listings.
- Process payments and manage any recurring subscriptions you sign up for.
- Respond to your messages, inquiries, and requests.
- Connect you with businesses or licensed professionals when you request it.
- Send you service-related communications, and, where permitted, updates about the community and the Site.
- Measure and analyze how the Site is used, including through third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics.
- Market and advertise the Site, including measuring, targeting, and optimizing advertising and retargeting campaigns through platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.
- Operate automated and artificial intelligence features, such as generating and improving content, captions, summaries, search results, and recommendations.
- Protect the Site, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With companies that help us operate the Site, such as hosting providers, our payment processor, analytics providers, and providers of artificial intelligence and content tools, who may access information only as needed to perform their services.
- Analytics and advertising providers. With analytics and advertising platforms, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, that help us understand Site usage and deliver, measure, and optimize advertising. These providers may set their own cookies and receive technical and usage information, including online identifiers, through the tags and pixels on the Site, and may combine it with data they already hold. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Professionals you ask to be connected with. If you submit a request to be connected with a real estate professional or another business, we may share your contact details and request with one or more professionals so they can follow up with you. Some of these businesses may pay us a referral fee or commission for the introduction, which never adds any cost to you. See our Terms of Use for more on referral compensation.
- Legal reasons. When we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, respond to legal process, protect our rights or the safety of others, or prevent fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies, including pixels, tags, and local storage, to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, measure performance, and support marketing and advertising.
We use third-party services that place their own technologies on the Site, which may include:
- Analytics. Tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, which help us understand how visitors find and use the Site.
- Advertising and measurement. Tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags, which help us show relevant ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google, and YouTube, measure whether those ads work, and reach people who have visited the Site (sometimes called retargeting).
These providers may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, online identifiers, and the pages and actions you take on the Site, and may use it in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control how these third parties use the information they collect.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and disabling them may affect how the Site works. You can also manage advertising preferences through tools offered by these providers and through industry opt-out pages such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and Meta and Google ad settings. Where required by law, we obtain consent for non-essential cookies and tracking before they are used.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools
We may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other automated tools to operate and improve the Site. This can include generating or drafting content such as captions, summaries, and descriptions, powering search and recommendations, moderating or organizing submissions, and analyzing usage to improve features.
To provide these features, information you submit or that is collected automatically may be processed by us or by third-party AI and technology providers acting on our behalf. We aim to limit the information shared with these providers to what is needed for the feature. We do not permit our AI service providers to use your personal information to train their own general-purpose models except as allowed by our agreements with them, and we take reasonable steps to have such information handled confidentially.
Automated tools can make mistakes, and AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete. We do not use automated processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without a right to human review where required by law. If you have questions about how automated tools are used, contact us using the details below.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Site, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at hello@jaxinsider.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law. You may also unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in those emails or by contacting us. Please note that some information may be retained where required for legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.
Analytics and advertising opt-outs. You can limit analytics and interest-based advertising by adjusting your browser and device settings, using the ad-preference and opt-out controls offered by Meta and Google, and using industry opt-out tools such as optout.aboutads.info. We do not sell your personal information for money, and to the extent sharing information with advertising providers is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under certain state laws, you may opt out by contacting us at hello@jaxinsider.com. We do not knowingly discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to or rely on third-party websites and services that we do not control, including our payment processor, mapping providers, analytics and advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, and artificial intelligence providers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
